Recently, Denver County passed rental licensing requirements that will take effect in 2023 and 2024.
Starting January 1, 2023, a license will be required for anyone offering, providing, or operating a residential rental property consisting of two or more rental dwelling units on a single parcel.
Starting January 1, 2024, a license will be required for anyone offering, providing, or operating a residential rental property consisting of a single rental dwelling unit on a single parcel.
About the requirements:
The requirements are basic, primarily focused on health and safety. Essentially, they are everything a good landlord should already be doing. These include but are not limited to:
- Smoke and CO2 detectors
- Fire extinguishers
- GFCI’s in bathrooms
- Proper egress
